2297 Minutes
Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held 2nd March 2006 were read and endorsed.
2298 Public Question Time
Mr Saunders informed the meeting that another lorry had become stuck on a tight corner in the village. Mr Saunders suggested better road signage on the outskirts of the village be requested from NWLDC to inform lorry drivers of their best route to enter the village. The Parish Council agreed with the request and asked the clerk to bring previous requests to the next meeting for further discussion.
Mr Hine complained about the destruction of grass verges on Top Street. It is believed most of the damage has been caused by vehicles parking on the verges and larger vehicles pulling onto the verges to pass parked vehicles. The Parish Council requested the clerk bring previous paperwork to the next meeting so problem can be discussed further.
Mr Hines reported a footpath sign had been vandalised, Mr Dunkelman agreed to pass contact details for L.C.C. footpaths department.
Mrs Chapman requested traffic calming measures for the entrance to Didcott Way due to the dangerous speed that vehicles turn into the very wide entrance. It was suggested the entrance be narrowed to slow traffic down, this seemed to work recently when the entrance had been temporarily narrowed by Severn Trent Water. It was agreed by the Parish Council to request traffic calming be investigated by the Highways Department.
