Old Appleby Images - Heath House
Built in the 19th Century and
demolished in the 20th, this house stood on Bird's Hill where
Heath Lodge is now. Its last occupant is believed to be
Mrs Hunt, but does anyone know who the lady is in the picture?

picture, which is a scan of a photograph of a photograph.
The original belonged to Charlie Ellis who lived in the Alms
Houses over 30 years ago.
July 2009 Events
Thursday 2nd July: Parish Council Meeting at the
Sir John Moore Foundation, 7.30pm. Members of the public
are welcome to attend.
Saturday 4th July: The annual Midsummer Music Concert
in the grounds of SJM. Funk Rock & Roll with the
Hoosemairtes, local band showcase with No Friend of Mine,
Stained Glass Alice, The Waits. Beggar Man Thief will be playing
in the cellar. Discounts for bookings before the end of
June.
August
Events
Thursday 18th August: Mikron Theatre - Tales of the
Thames. The wonderful Mikron make a welcome return to
Appleby with their latest production, presented as always with
humour, wit and a smattering of songs. This event is
sponsored by Gerald Box so please contact Gerald for tickets on

Friday 28th to Monday 31st: Jazz & Blues Festival,
a weekend of free music at venues in and around Appleby
featuring Big Mog & The Alley Cats, Blue Devils, Victoria Bourne
and more. Further details still to be released but contact
